When George was only one week old, him, a sister, and his mother got kidnapped by night raiders from Arkansas. Moses sent out John Bentley to find them, but only George was found. Washington’s parents were slaves. His father died before he was born and his mother was sold to another plantation. Sadly, he did not grow up with his parents.
